Enforcement Officer (Part-Time)

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the parking enforcement officer, or PEO, is to issue summonses for violations of State and City parking laws and ordinances. The PEO is to ensure comfortable and unrestricted flow of traffic through the city streets as well as owned parking lots and decks.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  1. Possess a valid and in-good standing New Jersey State Driver's license
  2. Extremely knowledgeable of the geography of the New Brunswick streets
  3. Exceptional customer service skills
  4. Native or fluent comprehension of the English language
  5. Excellent adaptability. This position's responsibilities are largely based on public cooperation and reaction. The parking enforcement officer must be able to adjust accordingly.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Foot and auto patrols of the City of New Brunswick and Authority facilities (all-weather).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. At least one (1) year working in a customer service based position preferred, but not required
  3. Prior experience in a paramilitary structure environment is preferred, but not required.

Valet Parking Manager

This position, located in New Brunswick, is responsible for, but not limited to planning, directing, and coordinating the activities and operations of the Valet department under the direction of the Director of Operations. Duties and responsibilities also include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and overseeing as well as evaluating the quality of service provided by staff. The Valet Parking Manager is required to hire new members for the staff and delegate tasks and duties to them. He/she is responsible for the coordination of the activities associated with Valet and other parking services including the oversight of day, evening, and weekend customer service and parking operations at various locations.

The Valet Parking Manager should be available to respond to emergencies and will be required to work weekends, evenings, late night shifts, and special events.

In addition, the Valet Parking Manager keeps track of different events, implements customer service protocols, creates emergency response procedures, conducts evaluations, and supervises Valet staff members.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Valet industry at the management or supervisory
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Strong customer service, decision making, project management, staffing, planning, training, tracking budget expenses in payroll, analyzing information, developing standards, solicit new business, and emphasizing commitment to efficiency

    Parking Services and Valet Positions

    The New Brunswick Parking Authority is seeking motivated individuals for part-time employment in our Parking Services Department and part-time and full-time (extensive benefits package offered for full-time employment) employment in our Valet Department.
